Fairmont Hotel Singapore

Fairmont Singapore Hotel

5 stars - review by

The Fairmont features very distinctive rooms with plenty of individual style – expect immaculate polished wood flooring and extra perks such as in-room espresso machines and Bose surround sound systems. Along with adjacent sister hotel Swisshotel the Stamford, you get an impressive 16 dining and drinking outlets to sample and with the latter rising to 70 storeys high, you get incomparable skyline views. The hotel manages to combine just the right elements of luxury urban leisure resort and a strong focus on doing business, all under one roof.

The Fairmont is situated on Bras Basah Road, where modern day business and Singapore’s colonial heritage meet – just a stone’s throw from the iconic Raffles Hotel. It’s an ideal base whether your focus is business or leisure. The hotel forms part of a huge complex comprising a convention centre and cavernous shopping mall. What’s more you can hop on a MRT train virtually without leaving the building. The bustling City Hall MRT interchange station is sited directly underneath the hotel, providing swift access to the entire city.

Although room sizes are generally small for five-star standards, there is plenty of variety in the hotel’s 769 guestrooms and suites. The classically styled Signature Room is an ideal space whether you are here for work or play, featuring spacious work/lounge area and hi-tech entertainment system. A big plus is the two private balconies offering impressive skyline views. The Fairmont’s Theme Suites are all individually designed ranging from art deco to modern Asian minimalism, and feature abundant natural light and lavish bathrooms with private sauna and Jacuzzi.

Bars and Restaurants

Be it dim sum, Italian, French, delicious cakes or sizzling steaks, you certainly won’t go hungry at the Fairmont. Standout outlets include Szechuan Court and Mikuni, serving up top-notch Asian cuisine in decadent designer surroundings. For a more casual affair, snack on healthy spa cuisine by the pool at Alligator Pear or dive into a hearty carvery or seafood feast at Equinox. Then join a hip, laid back crowd at INK bar for cool cocktails and gourmet tapas until the early hours.

You’ll not want to pass up the chance of some serious pampering at Willow Stream Spa; it’s one of the best in town and one of the largest in Asia. If you want to work up a sweat beforehand, there is a fully equipped hi-tech fitness centre and six floodlit tennis courts. There is also a highly impressive resort-style swimming pool and no less than 27 meeting and function rooms for all your business needs.

Set over twin 26-storey towers, the Fairmont offers appealing, functional rooms streaming with natural sunlight, although the non-suite accommodation lacks the space of other five-star places in town. The location is unbeatable and if you crave good entertainment options and extensive business amenities all under one roof, this is the place to be.
